Accelerated Reader

Reading independently is the key to academic success.

Accelerated Reader (A.R.) is a computer program that measures reading comprehension skills. Students select a book and verify it is on the AR reading list. (You can find the AR listing of books @ www.arbookfind.com )   The book selected should be at your child’s independent reading level. Once they have finished the book they may take the AR comprehension test in their classroom or in the computer lab during their allotted time. The AR program will record the level book and the number of points they earned. Each classroom teacher will be setting student goals. Student goals will be monitored and will be reflected in the students reading grade at the end of each trimester. If you have any further questions please contact your child’s teacher.
